Combustion characterization of hybrid methane-hydrogen gas in domestic swirl stoves

Combustion of hybrid natural gas (methane) and hydrogen mixture in domestic swirl stoves has been characterized using hot-state experiments numerical analysis. The detailed combustion mechanism methane (GRI-Mech 3.0) simplified to obtain reduced number chemical reactions involved (82 % reduction). novel developed used characteristics methane-hydrogen mixture. difference between the calculations from mechanisms found be <1 %. A model, based on is developed, rigorously tested validated against tests. results depict that maximum zone’s average temperature <13 investigations have then extended mixtures with varying volume fraction hydrogen. show for a containing 15 hydrogen, release CO due reduces by 25 %, while 6.7 tests both confirm remains stable when stoves, demonstrating its effectiveness cooking processes.
